These remnants illustrate the rise, decline, and migration of Puebloan people as they adapted to climate change. One of the first World Natural Heritage Sites, Nahanni National Park is renowned for its unique geological and ecological features. At its heart lies the South Nahanni River, a rare antecedent river that has maintained its winding course (Meanders) since before the surrounding mountains rose.
